Before the start of a new school year, the City Rescue Mission runs its "Backpacks of Hope" collection and giveaway. The Mission collects new backpacks, fills these with school supplies, and distributes them to children, K-5 through high school senior, who are from homeless and/or low income families.
Purpose of Position:
• To help the City Rescue Mission distribute backpacks and school supplies to children in need.
Main Responsibilities:
• Before giveaway: To help sort school supplies and assemble backpacks.
• Giveaway Day: traffic and crowd control.
• Giveaway Day: help sign-up those needing backpacks.
• Giveaway Day: help distribute backpacks.
• Giveaway Day: assist those with backpacks to their vehicles, if needed.
